AATEA draws on kaupapa Maori conceptual frameworks as well as western research practices in all of its research and evaluation projects. Working with the client to develop a research or evaluation strategy that is practical in its implementation and appropriate for community situation, 

AATEA endorses methods that:    

• havve purpose and utitility 

• are consistent with Te Tiriti o Waitangi 

• are underpinned by tikanga Maori and   

• supports relationship building.

• Aio Foundation and 

• Ministry of Education.
